Pastor Matt Olson
Matt serves as the lead pastor of Faith Baptist Church. He has served in full-time ministry in local churches since 2010. Expository preaching and personal discipleship are Matt's main ministry focus. He summarizes his ministry focus, “I desire to lead God’s church with courageous love towards Christ-likeness using the Word of God.”
Matt grew up in a Christian home in southeast Wyoming where he lived until he went to Bible college. At fifteen, Matt recognized his need to be born again and trusted in Christ for salvation. He met his wife, Elisabeth, in high school.
After training for ministry and graduating, they found themselves searching for the Lord’s direction for ministry. They followed the Lord’s calling which led them to central Illinois where Matt served faithfully for four and half years as a youth pastor, focusing on families in the church. The Lord then called them to serve in eastern Wisconsin where Matt served as an assistant pastor, focusing on training people for the work of the ministry by implementing various ministry structures. From there, they came to Faith in November 2019. Matt became our lead pastor in January 2021.
At this season of life, some of his favorite activities include being a husband to his sweetheart, being a dad to their four children, hunting, competing in any sport or board game, and enjoying the outdoors (camping, fishing, hiking).
